Love in Christ
The Apostle Paul exhorted the Colossians to put on compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and patience, and as a binder of all that you serve as a unifying and perfect binder.
The word “wear” is often used as a verb to wear something in a person, such as wearing clothes. So when compared, the compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience is like a fabric and then sewn together by love.
Without love, we can not use none of the above attributes. Love is a sewing all the attributes of the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:2). Why? Because we can not be merciful with our own capabilities. We can not be humble, because it is human tendency to sin and arrogant. We can not wait, our flesh tend to want things fast.
So, was the source of the fruit of the spirit is love. Patience of love arise. Arises from the love of mercy, and tenderness of love arise weaknesses.
So how do we get this love? Abide in Christ, as 1 John 4:15-16 says, “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. We have known and believed the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love, he remains in God and God in him. ”
